Why are you called Bergamia Tea?

The name comes from the latin name for Bergamot Orange - ‘Citrus Bergamia’. The oil from this Mediterranean citrus fruit is used for scenting Earl Grey tea. We scent our best-selling tea Real Earl Grey in house in small batches. We wanted to capture the captivating smell of the scenting process in our company name, hence Bergamia Tea.

Can I recycle your packaging?

Unfortunately we are not able to recycle the pouches at the moment, but if you bring them back to farmers markets, you can re-use them when you buy tea from us, and save the cost of the pouch. You can also bring your own tea caddy (or any container) to avoid packaging altogether! Alternatively if you send the pouches back to us with details of your order, your name, address, and your contact details, we will re-use/ refill your pouches at your request and process your payment over the telephone.

What are your best-selling teas?

Our absolute best-seller online and at the markets is our Real Earl Grey tea, second best seller is English Breakfast!

What is your favourite tea?

The most difficult question of all! Although we drink a lot of our English Breakfast tea, we couldn’t say that we have only one favourite tea, because it depend on so many things, like what time of day it is and of course on our mood. Also we love tea and food pairing, which opens up interesting possibilities for new tea drinking. We absolutely love drinking Honeybush late at night. Drinking delicious Darjeeling at lunch times to refresh our minds has became our great habit. Refreshing cup of green tea at market stall is a must and jasmine green tea is always popular with us as a pleasant pick-me-up.
