GENERAL INFO

Where are you based?

We are based in South East of England in Kent, United Kingdom

Why are you called Bergamia Tea?

Our name comes from Citrus Bergamia (Latin for Bergamot Orange). Bergamot oil from this Mediterranean fruit has been traditionally used for scenting Earl Grey tea, including our best-selling Real Earl Grey.

What are your best-selling teas?

Our Best Sellers include Real Earl Grey, English Breakfast, Moroccan Mint Blend and Lazy Green Tea.

Do you sell tea bags?

No, we don’t. When it comes to tea, we believe freshness is paramount to a good quality, therefore we don’t stock tea bags. Although they can be of a good quality, they tend to oxidase faster than loose tea, which shorten their life. Apart from that loose tea offers a much wider range to choose from, and the control how weak or strong one makes the tea and ultimately the freedom to move around brews better, hence making tastier cup of tea.

What is your favourite tea?

We couldn’t say that we have only one favourite tea, because it depends on so many things, like the time of day and on our mood but in the morning we enjoy our English Breakfast tea as a fabulous pick-me-up. Before lunch we often have a cup of Darjeeling to refresh our minds and help us with concentration on what we’re doing or working on. We drink regularly soothing Honeybush at night time. We enjoy drinking our Real Earl Grey tea with some of our friends and family with a delicious homemade piece of cake or biscuits and are always up to sharing a lovely cup of Oolong with anyone who we want to ignite an interest in tea.

POUCH SIZES (WEIGHTS)

What pouch sizes do you offer?

We offer most teas in the following weights: 50g, 100g, 250g, 500g & 1kg. There are some non-standard volume variations (e.g. 25g, 40g, 200g & 400g) due to the nature of loose tea and its varied leaf sizes.

MARKETS

Which markets do you trade from?

Usually we trade from markets in Kent, Surrey and London. Please always check our Market & Events Calendar for up to date info before you come along.

PACKAGING

Can I recycle your packaging?

We are not able to recycle the pouches at the moment, but if you bring them back to farmers markets, you can re-use them when you buy tea from us, and save the cost of the pouch. You can also bring your own tea caddy (or any container) to avoid packaging altogether! Alternatively, you can post the pouches back to us when you order online and let us know in comments section (before checkout) that you’ve posted them to us, we’ll wait for your packaging and re-use it with your new order. We will also refund you for all your packaging (10p for small, 20p for medium, 25p large and 30p for extra-large pouch).
